
Roger E. Cochran, 72, of Martinsville, went Home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2017. Born in Leesburg, Ohio, on June 19, 1945, he was the son of Robert and Isabelle (nee Cole) Cochran. Roger married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Barb McAllister. They were married at New Antioch Church of Christ on June 26, 1965. Together they had three sons and three daughters-in-love, Brian and Paula, Barry and Amy, and Kristopher and Theresa; 15 grandchildren, Lyndi and Dan Salsbury, Dustin Cochran and Jenn Carter, Zach and Allysen Mann; Corey Cochran and Erica Hughes, Jessica Colebank, Gavin Colebank, Parker Cochran, Taylor Cochran, Trey Cochran, Levi Cochran, and Nathan Lloyd; and seven great-grandchildren, Micah, Noah, Lucas, Brycen, Jocelyn, Sawyer, and Owen.
He loved his family so well! He loved time with family and friends and always found time to have fun with them. He served in the Army National Guard from 1966 until 1971 with the engineer battalion. Roger received an honorable discharge when he retired as a Sergeant and sharpshooter.
Roger was a lifelong Clinton County farmer and friend to everyone. He began his service for the Lord at New Antioch Church of Christ with the youth group that he loved so much; he also served there as Deacon and S.S. teacher. Roger also served the Martinsville Church of Christ as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, song leader, and Elder. It was his joy to serve!
Even after his health began to decline, he still served at the Wilmington Church of Christ as a greeter and grandpa to their Kid City students. He loved them so. Roger served as Clark Township Trustee for 14 years.
He is also survived by his brother, Robert N. Cochran; sister, Mary Ellen Pyle; and numerous friends and loved ones.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-love, Waldo and Ada McAllister.

Terry Eugene Roush 70, of Lynchburg (Pricetown Community), Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence. Terry was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on February 10, 1947, the son of the late Robert and Irene Barr Roush. Terry was immersed into Christ on August 8, 1958 with his brother Tim Roush, and served the Lord his entire life. He was a graduate of Lynchburg High School (65’) Morehead State University Bachelor of Science in Math/Science/Ag and a Master’s Degree from Miami University. Terry Taught Chemistry, Math, and several other subjects, coached several teams, Student Council Advisor, National Honor Society Advisor, Class Advisor and many other roles at Lynchburg-Clay High School where he retired. In addition to being an educator, Terry was a 4H advisor for numerous years, farmed and worked in the agriculture seed sales business. Terry is survived by his wife, Gloria Turner Roush, whom he married on August 26, 1967; daughter, Rebecca (Darrin) Sanderson of Lynchburg (Pricetown); two sons, John “J.R. (Dana) Roush of Lynchburg (Pricetown), Troy (Michelle) Roush of Lynchburg (Pricetown); one brother, Tim (Linda) Roush of Mowrystown, OH; six grandchildren: Patrick Roush, Eli Roush, Abby Roush, Emily Roush, Kaylei Sanderson, Emma Sanderson; and one step grandson, Justin (Courtney) Hassebrock; two aunts, Mary Ruth Barr and Margery Roush; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Herbert Spangler, 67, of Midland, Ohio went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2016 surrounded by family.

Evelyn Clifton Myers-Cochran went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 3, 2015.
She was born January 9, 1934, the first of five children of Ulysses Blaine Clifton and "Olive" Imogene Storer-Clifton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ivan C. Myers on March 1, 1987, after almost 33 years of marriage; her brothers-in-law, Gaylord Myers and Philip Cochran; and her grandson, John-Mark Ivan Myers.
She is survived by her second husband, Walter "Pete" Cochran; her son, Matthew Ivan (Robin) Myers of Martinsville, and their son, Christian Matthew Myers of Kissimmee, Florida; her daughter, Melinda "Mindy" Sue Myers (James) Shiveley and their daughter Morgan Ivana Shiveley of Lebanon; a step-son, Rob (Dana) Cochran and their daughters, Rachael and Regan Cochran of John's Creek, Georgia. Also surviving are her brothers, Walter (Liz) Clifton and Larry Clifton of Sabina, Wayne (Dena) Clifton of Blanchester, and Robert (Ginger) Clifton of Westminster, California.
Evelyn attended Sabina Elementary School and graduated from Martinsville High School. After high school and prior to marriage and college, she worked at WPAFB as a clerk-stenographer. She later worked as a secretary for the Prosecuting Attorney, George L. Schilling Sr. at the law offices of Schilling & Barkley in Wilmington. She was a graduate of Wilmington College, majoring in English and Elementary Education. She did graduate work at Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, and Wright State University and became certified in the teaching of reading, grades K-12.
She started her teaching career in 1966 teaching at the Holmes School in Wilmington with 34 first-graders. She loved her students and often had tears when one moved away. She later taught remedial reading at East End to first and third graders. She became a part of the team teaching ECPC program with Carolyn Gerard and Sue Tarpley. After reorganization of Wilmington City Schools, she returned to the newly renovated Holmes building teaching in the ECPC program and to teach remedial reading. She retired after 30 years of teaching service.
Family and church always has first priority in her life. She lived on a farm near Morrisville and loved the farm lifestyle. She was an active member of the Martinsville Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school when her children were young. She was a member of the Emmaus Community of Wilmington and the Wilmington Retired Teachers Association.

Norma Jean Meade Stanforth, 76, of Martinsville, Ohio died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Continental Manor, Blanchester, Ohio. Her husband, Millard Stanforth, preceded her in death. Mrs. Stanforth was born December 18, 1938 in Bevinsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Harold and Neola Gibson Meade. She was a member of the Martinsville Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stanforth is survived two sons, Millard Junior Stanforth of Blanchester, Ohio, Johnny (Diana) Stanforth of Martinsville, Ohio; a daughter, Gloria Stanforth of Martinsville, Ohio; two brothers, Cecil (Beulah) Meade of Martinsville, Ohio and James (Judy) Meade of Peebles, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Bud Miller of Martinsville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Ashley (Eddie Oats) Stanforth, Nicki (Chris) Reagan, Amber (Jeremy) Moore, Danielle Teboe, Sarah Teboe, and Jason Shoemaker; three step grandchildren, Teresa Scarberry, Timmy (Emily) Scarberry, Matthew (Amber) Scarberry; seven great grandchildren, Haydan Oats, Brycen Oats, Jaydan Reagan, Trenton Reagan, Aubrey Reagan, Levi Moore, and Jacob Moore; nine step-great grandchildren, Devin Scarberry, Dylan Dummitt, Justin Scarberry, Rylea Scarberry, Karrson Scarberry, Kholee Scarberry, Michael Scarberry, Mason Scarberry, and Madison Scarberry; a special friend, Rachel Mathew; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jackie Lee Byrd, 71, of Martinsville, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his new home in Wilmington.
He was born on June 12, 1942 in Richlands, Va., a son of the late Elisha Jackson and Sarah Leotha Dugger Byrd.
Mr. Byrd had retired from the International Paper Company in Wilmington after 26 years of service.
He was a member of the Martinsville Church of Christ and had served during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife Linda Joseph Byrd, whom he had married on Jan. 19, 1990; three children, Sarah (Cory) Meyer of Fort Jackson, S.C., C.J. Byrd of Louisville, Ky., and Danica (Brandon) Hughes of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Zachary Meyer, Claire Hughes and Eden Hughes; and a brother, Lloyd (Ada) Byrd of Hickory, N.C.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Chester "Chet" Spaeth, 78, of Wilmington, a former resident of Martinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.
His wife, Clara Ruth Spaeth, preceded him in death July 24, 2008. They were married Oct. 3, 1955.
Mr. Spaeth was born Oct. 3, 1935 in Cincinnati,the son of the late Chester Hayes Spaeth Sr. and Edith Honeycutt Clem.
Mr. Spaeth retired from Dayton Progress. He was a member of the Martinsville Church of Christ. He was an avid golfer and a member of the BPO Elks 797.
Mr. Spaeth is survived by a son, Ron (Lynne) Spaeth of New Vienna; three daughters, JoAnn Crouse of Blountville, Tenn., Diane (Dale) Hertlein of Wilmington and Patty (Robert) Firman of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, a brother, Walter Spaeth, and one grandchild, preceded him in death.

James Lee Parker
Just beyond the golden sunrise. Just beyond this world of care. There’s a home prepared in Heaven, which God’s children soon will share. James Lee Parker, son of Earl Wayne and Elizabeth Kirby Parker, was born January 6, 1937, and for him the gates of Heaven opened at 6:49 AM, on the beautiful fall morning of October 20, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. After his marriage to Joanne Oeder on November 11, 1961 he moved to a farm near Martinsville, Ohio. To this union were born two sons, Jeffery Wayne and Jerry William Parker.
His loving family left behind are his wife, Joanne; sons, Jeffery (Susan) and Jerry (Tracy); grandchildren, Joshua, Jenna, Courtney, Jesse, and Kensey all of the Martinsville community; his sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Lebanon, Ohio; his nephews; as well as his great nieces and great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Parker.
During his final years, he enjoyed his grandchildren, evening car rides checking out the farm, and having a friendly chat with neighbors and friends who just stopped by. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and host of many friends.

Lloyd Caldwell born in Milford, Ohio to the late Orie and Opal (nee Hamm) Caldwell went to be with the Lord March 3, 2013 at the age of 82.
Lloyd was the devoted husband to Doris (nee Creel) Caldwell for 58 years. He was the loving father of Brian "Butch" (Diann) Caldwell, Donna (Mark) Bergen, Kathy (Herb) Spangler, Brenda (Dennis) Morris and the proud grandparent to 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother Marvin Caldwell.
Lloyd served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, retired from General Electric, after 20 years as a welding specialist, as well as 20 years with Laurel Oaks Vocational School as a welding instructor. He farmed in Clinton County for most of his adult life.
A graduate of Blanchester High School, he was a natural-born story teller, never lost his love of learning or of teaching others. He was the first to volunteer whenever there was a need.
Lloyd was a long time member of the Martinsville Church of Christ, the Martinsville Lions Club, the Blanchester Senior Citizens and the Chaplain of the Blanchester American Legion.
